MARY A. CHRISTMAN’S APPLICATION FOR PENSION
The law governing soldiers' pension survivorship was changed 20 years after the end of the Civil War, so that William Christman's mother, Mary, was able to apply. The pension, granted April 23, 1885, paid her $8 a month until her death in 1902.
