Stoddartsville Historic Center and Cemetery
HATT members were the guests of the Stoddartsville Historic Center and the Stoddartsville Preservation Society on June 9, 2016.
Hosted by SPS and HATT members Gene Kerrick and Kim Kerrick, 22 HATT members enjoyed the remarkable history of this village during four scheduled tours throughout the day.
The center was remodeled this past year with refreshed and new displays. In exceptional detail, it expertly tells the significant history of Stoddartsville in the 19th century and well into the 20th century. Many artifacts show how life was lived during those years.
There are few history centers and museums that possess the detail exhibited at the Stoddartsville Historic Center in its displays.
Following the tour of the center, HATT members enjoyed a walk through the historic Stoddartsville Cemetery, where the founders of Blakeslee, Stoddartsville and Buck Township are buried, along with the community’s Civil War veterans.
