ANNUAL DINNER MEETING
HISTORICAL ASSOCIATION OF TOBYHANNA TOWNSHIP

October 8, 2014
Lake Naomi Clubhouse

Attendance: 77 paid and two guests
Speaker: Kenn Anderson — "The Real Christopher Columbus”

The meeting was called to order by president Jim Forcella, and Al Wismer led the reciting of the Pledge of Allegiance.

Scarlett Rehrig read a poem about 1492, and then the attendees watched as Christopher Columbus arrived at the dinner via boat on Lake Naomi. A delicious dinner was served.

Fred Lehrer introduced our speaker, Kenn Anderson, who gave a wonderful talk on the “Real Christopher Columbus.” Following a question and answer period, Fred presented Kenn with a certificate of appreciation for his talk to HATT.

Fred Tim, Fred Lehrer, and Scarlett Rehrig paid tribute to Rick Bodenschatz for his work and dedication to HATT for the past two years that he served as president. Rick's love of history, leadership, and dedication has made HATT a stronger organization. Current president, Jim Forcella expressed his thanks to Rick as well, and presented a plaque from HATT representing the organization’s gratitude.

Jim F. reminded the attendees of the next meeting on November 13 at 5:30 p.m., when J.R. Robbins will talk about the history of Buck Hill Falls.

Then on December 13 at 1p.m., the 4th annual “Home for the Holidays” concert will take place at the Pocono Lake United Methodist Church. Volunteer helpers are needed.

Meeting was adjourned

Respectfully submitted,
Jeanne Dyer, HATT Secretary
